Our Ministries, Groups, and Services

Altar Guild
The Altar Guild prepares, serves, and cleans up after Communion for each worship service. In addition, they care for the altar paraments and linens. Four teams serve four times per year for 1 month.

Confirmation
Students in 7th-8th grade join in a two-year educational curriculum (1 yr of Bible, 1 yr Lutheran teachings) to confirm and take responsibility for their faith.

Happy Peacemakers Quilters
On Tuesdays from 9am-12pm, the quilters construct quilts for Lutheran World Relief, children at Naomi Community, graduating seniors, and others. School, personal care, and baby care kits are also made and sent to Lutheran World Relief. If you are unable to meet with us, you may work on things at home.

Men's Prayer Breakfast
Each Friday at 7:00am men meet at Revel Community (16807 E Mission Parkway). Discussions focus on their lives and faith while sharing experiences through friendship, prayer, and camaraderie.

Parish Nurse
Debbie Martin integrates the practice of nursing within the faith life of Advent. A registered nurse (RN) specialist, she encourages physical and spiritual health and wholeness by developing and leading programs. Debbie also offers advocacy and support for anyone who needs it.

Tri-Parish
For over 50 years, we have joined with Episcopal Church of the Resurrection and St. Mary's Catholic Church to celebrate our common beliefs, and continue to work and pray for unity in the whole Body of Christ. Periodically, Tri-Parish worship celebrations are held.

Worship & Music
This team oversees the liturgies (formats used during the service) and music for worship services. They plan for the various church year seasons (Advent, Lent, Easter, etc.) and use the Choir, Praise Team, and special music to enhance worthip.

Bible Study
Adults: Bible study is offered during the week. Participants engage in historical, theological, social, faithful, and cultural aspects of a book in the Bible.

Golden Agers
Group outings are planned for seniors and retirees who enjoy getting together for fun and informative activities.

Inreach Committee
This committee provides assistance for those who need help such as meals, yard work, shopping, or rides to appointments to name a few. Contact Debbie if you would like to assist people or if you or someone you know needs assistance.

Music: Choir & Praise Team
Our two singing groups provide another way to share and hear the message during worship. Both groups sing periodically. The Choir uses traditional musica and teh Prais Team focuses on modern Christian music. Praise Team: Kevin Kelly 509-991-0370

Recycling
A recycling bin in the north parking area collects aluminum cans to generate extra income for maintenance projects. Please put cans in a plastic bag and then in the bin.

Visitation Ministry
The mission of this ministry is to go to people's homes to share God's Word and Sacrament (Communion) with the homebound or those unable to attend worship. Visits also include offering comfort, prayer, listening, spiritual nourishment, and celebration.

Church Council
The Congregational Council has general oversight of the life, activities, financial, and property matters of the congregation. Council members are elected at the Annual Congregation Meeting in December for three year terms with a maximum of two terms. Council meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month. The Council elects teh Executive Councilmembers (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary).

Happy Helpers
Happy Helpers assist in maintenance of our campus. They meet Thursdays from 9-11am. Join them for fellowship, camaraderie, and maintenance.

Ladies Luncheon
The second Saturday of the month at 11:30am a Ladies Luncheon is held at a local restaurant. Sign-up as you are able to attend and get to know your sisters in Christ.

Outreach
The Outreach Committee meets periodically to plan projects which reach out to our community. Examples include: Spokane Valley Partners (monthly food drive), Naomi Community, Blessings Under the Bridge, and Christmas Tree of Sharing.

Super Youth Team
(Sunday School, Youth, Family)
A variety of Christian Education opportunities are offered for youth and families. Whether it is Sunday morning learning, a Super Youth Sunday event, movie night, or outreach/service projects, we seek to educate in ways that best fit the needs and learning styles of our young people.

Worship & Hospitality
This group is comprised of five teams whose primary focus is to assist with worship services and host the fellowship hour. Sign up sheets are available at the entry to the sanctuary.
